Privacy Policy
Last updated October 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Next Chapter (“Company”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares personal information. It is structured like a Termly-style privacy policy and reflects how the product actually works today.
Interpretation and definitions
Personal Data means information that identifies or can identify you. Service means the Next Chapter websites and applications. You means the individual using the Service.
Collecting and using your personal data
Account details from your sign-in provider: your name, email address and whether your email is verified.
What you tell us: job titles, locations, work arrangement, pay expectations, and any resume or documents you upload.
Your choices: the permissions you grant or decline, with the date and wording you saw.
Security and service records: sign-in times, active sessions, and a limited audit log of sensitive actions. IP addresses used for abuse prevention are stored only in hashed form.
Payment metadata from our processor (Stripe): subscription status and invoices. Card numbers never touch our servers.
How we use it
To run your account, show you relevant job openings, and keep your account secure.
To use AI on your information (for example, to analyze your resume or suggest improvements) only if you turn on that permission. You can turn it off at any time in Settings → Privacy.
To contact you about your account. Marketing messages are sent only if you opt in.
Your resume and documents
Uploaded documents are encrypted before storage and can be downloaded only through your signed-in account. Your original resume is always kept; any rewritten version is saved separately and only with your permission.
When you delete a document, we delete the stored file and its encryption key.
Who we share it with
Service providers that host and operate Next Chapter (for example, hosting, database, sign-in, payments and AI processing), under contracts that limit their use of your data to providing the service. AI providers may not use your data to train their models.
Employers only when you choose to apply or share your profile. Auto-apply assist records the employer URL and your confirmation; it does not bypass employer CAPTCHAs or invent answers.
Our business operations system (ERPNext) receives minimal operational records (for example, support issues and billing sync tasks), not your full resume text by default.
Authorities when the law requires it.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary and preference cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.
Tax and billing data
Stripe Tax may process billing address data to calculate sales tax or VAT at checkout. See Stripe’s documentation and our Terms for refund timing.
Your personal and work accounts are separate
If your employer gives you a work account, it is separate from your personal account. Your employer cannot see your personal account, and closing or disabling one does not affect the other.
Your rights and choices
You can view and change your information and permissions in Settings, sign out of other devices, and ask us to export or delete your data through the Contact page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, which we honor.
Retention
We keep your information while your account is active and delete or anonymize it after you close your account, except where we must keep records (for example, billing records) for legal reasons.
Changes and contact
We will tell you about material changes before they take effect. Questions? Reach us through the Contact page.
